2008 MHK Gallery

click here to view the complete gallery

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Based on these swimsuit pictures (not the whole gallery), I would say that #4 Samantha has the best picture.
Personally, I love the swimsuit pictures. These are considered the official swimsuit pictures. Each has their own perspective of beauty.

Dance Rehearsal

On June 25 Hong Kong the wind temperature rose to eight yet the 12 pageants still appeared at Hong Kong's Tseung Kwan O Television City. The purpose today was for the pageants to do some rehearsing practice to prepare for their performance on the day of the final. Today's practice is the pageant's first and last time practice dancing. The pageants in front were in 10 cm long high heel boots, moving right then jumping left dancing. That's not all. Afterwards they were spinning with their hands as well. The steps were getting more and more difficult. Your heart will clutch if you were witnessing it. When their performance was acceptable, the dance instructor, Ringo modeled to the pageants how they are suppose to dance on a treadmill. Is it true? Dancing at a treadmill? The answer is 100% accurate. When #1 tried performing first and then on as soon as Ringo finished modeling. They might not adapt to the initial number of the speed of the treadmill, therefore there might have been some camera shots that you might not want to see. At the end of their rehearsal, the pageants were able to twist and turn on the treadmill. Very carefree! The most that people admire is when some pageants were practicing on the treadmill, other pageants were practicing spontaneously. Their attitude was very serious.

Post from #7 Hilda's Blog

We are dance rehearsing! After all the sweat, I feel very readily.
Today's rehearsing is very special because we had to wear high heel boots dancing and twisting on a treadmill.
The feeling is very fresh!

See how tired we are!

After we rested, we are trying again! All of us will try our best to prepar
e for the show!
Here, I really have to say thanks to the instructor because they spend a lot of brain thoughts to think of our dancing steps!

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Oh, sounds like fun. I agree with Hilda. When you are practicing, you might think that it's hard for you. However, it's even more difficult for the instructor to plans the steps. I really really want to try this. Sounds like the pageants don't have must time left to rehearse before the actual show based on the tome of the reporter. Add oil to you all!

2008 Miss Hong Kong Pageants Promotion Clip

Webmaster's Thoughts:
I love this video. I expresses the most beautiful side of the pageants. I just can't stop watching this video. I just can't describe how much good this video is filmed. How natural they are, the scene when this video was taken, the costume, and the major improvements compared to last year's promotion video. This one is captured more seriously and able to point out Miss Hong Kong spirit. The computer affects looks very natural.

Best Promotion Clip: #4 Samantha Ko

Whether it's her post, hairstyle, and make-up, it's able to express her beauty. Extremely attractive. The direction the fan was blowing and how she tilted her head made the capture perfect. However, I believed a few pageants have the requirements listed above, but what Samantha has and others don't is that she was very natural as if she is really enjoying this. I felt very comfortable, peaceful ,and relaxed when I was watching her portion. My other favorite was Ana, Nadia, Hilda, Joyce, and Iris. If it wasn't Samantha , then Iris would be the one because I usually see her as small. However, this time she gave me a refreshing look. Very comfortable like Samantha. I thought her clip wasn't as attractive.

Best Costume: #10 Joyce Shin
No offense, but due to her body figure, I think she looks perfect in this costume. The design is rather simple, but I love the design. The color of the dress matches with her shin and the background. Most pageant's dress is plain white however her dress is different along with Ana, Nadia, and Hilda. My other favorite dress was Nadia's, but I didn't choose her as the best costume because it's not as comfortable as Joyce's costume.

Best Group: #7,8,9

I see that this group is very cooperative and loving. This was judged on the beginning and end picture if the pageant's section. Their post was rather close together as if they all are very caring. Group spirit!!! Other groups were standing in a very wide gap as if they aren't even a group, but just taking it of their own.

Worst Promotion Clip.: #3 Edelweisses
Terrible angle. Uncomfortable post. Unnatural.

Worst Costume: #3,5,6,8,11,12
The fashion taste their is terrible. It seems as if they are being strangled and wearing rags.

Ratings: Scale of 5
#1 Ana: 4
#2 Nadia: 5
#3 Edelweisses: 1
#4 Samantha: 5
#5 Jovy: 2
#6 Skye: 3
#7 Hilda: 4
#8 Angela:
#9 Iris: 5
#10 Joyce: 4
#11 Sire: 2
#12 Denise: 2

Miami Party

Speaking of the pageants Caribbean location shooting trip, 12 pageant's topics are nonstop. Since everyone can't forget this trip, HongThai starting from June 24 at 5 P.M. will be hosting a celebration. Allowing them to travel back in time to experience the spirit again. The invited guest includes: America and Hong Kong's Consulate General of commercial counselor 史德华, Hong Thai's manager 刘美诗, and TVB program manager Rose Chan.
The 12 pageant's will be refreshing the clips of them in the
Caribbean trip. Originally, the 12 pageants was sitting politely. However, after they watched some clips, the pageants began started plenty of discussions and clapped hardly. Their reactions was surely from their true heart.
After viewing the clips, 12 pageants were on stage speaking in English and Chinese their feelings. Many pageants mentioned the day where they went to visit the dolphins and when they were caring the baby
crocodiles. Others said that when they were playing inside the ship, went wind surfing, and others which they haven't experienced before. Their feeling is very fresh there. Although, some pageants were nervous, but this day was chaos. The 12 pageants successfully, accomplish this task.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
I have already found the video, but I haven't had a chance to watch it after all it's 21 minutes long. I wish I had the memory of all the fun... Well at this point the pageants should no longer be nervous when they are speaking in public.
They would have difficult when they are competing for the Tourism Ambassador award.

Catwalk

We seriously can't think that modern women are weak. As long as they are patient and hardworking, they can overcome any obstacles. Remember approximately ten days ago, the 12 pageants were practicing catwalk. Majority of their angle, turns, posts, and others actions weren't natural. However, on June 23 at 7 P.M. the pageants were at Tseung Kwan O Television City practicing again.
Due to the fact that it was Sunday and they didn't receive enough sleep, the pageants weren't as concentrated. However, they were able to meet all of their instructor, Candy's requirements. Even though when the instructor left outside for some discussion, they didn't leave the room. The pageants are really willing to learn. They practiced many many times. Their spontaneous is very touching.
You receive what you contribute. Their angle, turns, posts, and others do need improvements. However, they have a
professional model's style. Although, there is less than a month left until July 19. However, there aren't many more days for them to practice their catwalk posts, but they are able to have such good results. Seems like they practice at home in front of their mirror. We believe that they all will be prepared on the day of the finals. Each of them will have their uniqueness.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Seems like they need immediate help, although there is still quite a long time before July 19. I have seen clips of them practicing, and they aren't as bad as the article said. I believe of all the pageants the best would be #8 Angela because she was a model before she joined MHK. Practice more will make large improvements. Add oil!!!

Sasa Company

Young women are sure full of energy! When they play they were very concentrated. Today, June 6, the pageants were at Hong Kong Grand Century Place in WongKok. This function was hosted by Sasa beauty company, "为你缔造美丽人生" selling for charity. It was divided into three parts.
First, the 12 pageants were divided into three groups. Every group had two representatives. The first group to find the accurate four pieces of pictures is the winner. At the end, #9 Iris, #10 Joyce, #11 Sire, #12 Denice won and brought home $3000 worth of price.
Second, one pageant for each group used their body motion to tell them the answer. The remaining had to figure out the answer based on the message. The winner team is rewarded with prices.
Afterwards, #1 Ana, #2 Nadia, #3
Edelweiss, #4 Samantha accomplished within one minute and one second.
At last, you can say that this is the best of this function. It was 12 pageants convincing the audience to purchase beauty products. All products sold on this day was on sale and all collects donations will be donated to Hong Kong Po Lung Kuk. All of the pageants were kind hearted. They loudly called for people to purchase beauty products. Many citizens saw the pageants kindness and brought home many products.
The scenes were very crowded, therefore the total of $50000. Of all the pageants, #1 Ana and #2 Nadia's performance was the most outstanding, therefore they were rewarded the "Kind-Heart Pageant".

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Wow.. they collected quite a lot. I am assuming that #1 and #2 sold the most since the article didn't say it specifically. Felt sad for #5,6,7,8. They were the only pageants who was rewarded nothing, but the most important was to test their kindness. I think #1 and #2 really performed well, although I wasn't present because in order for customers to buy your products. You have to be very convincing and able to express and introduce the product clearly. Good job! #1 Ana improved a lot if it was based on the reasons why the customers were buying the products. Based on the interview from the beginning, she wasn't really fluent with chinese. I hope isn't because of the fans she had that was present, that's way they collected the most money though.

Beauty Thoughts

On June 16, 12 Miss Hong Kong pageants were at a beauty center Dr. Pro. The group of people at this day was full of energy. All of the pageants were very concentrated when they were taking the tour. They asked questions when there was confusion. Their learning spirit is worth praising.
People say that dressing is a must need. Others also say that a woman wastes half an hour for make-up. based on the sayings above, you can conclude that a woman value their appearance a lot.
Since all of the pageants are so interested in beauty, lets have them express their own thoughts. #6 Skye thinks it's
really important to receive the right amount of sleep and eat appropriately. She always dislike fried and cold. #6 Skye said, "I know that if you eat cold food, it will affect people humidity. I f you drink cold, your foot will be bloated. Therefore, I never liked cold stuff ever since I was small. Besides that, I went swimming and played ping pong ball with my parents. The following is her beauty experience.
#6 Skye said, "#5 Jovy thinks that receiving the rght amount of sleep and eating appropriately is equally important. However, don't forget to cleanse
your face especially after we joined the MHK competition, we must apply make-up on every single day. When we return home,we must cleanse our face immediately. You must cleanse every portion of your face with care and time. Try not to apply make-up on when you don't have to. I will try to do as must exercise as possible. When I sweat it will increase my metabolism. As a result, it's good for my skin as well."
#12 Denice thinks, "The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a cup of water. It will make my skin better and give me more energy. If you see that your eyes are swollen, you should give it a massage. The swollen then would be relieved. Speaking of eating, I dislike fried food and snacks. I will not eat snacks even when I am desperate for food. I exercise constantly to keep my body in shape."

#10 Joyce revealed that she didn't care about her skin before, but she became more concerned after she joined MHK competition. As a result, she cleanses her face immediately when she arrives home. On the other hand, her mother cools soup for me. After all the care, her shin is getting better now. Due to the fact that Joyce has rather dark shin, don't think that Joyce likes to go swimming, Surprisingly, she doesn't know how to, but she is an expert at volleyball playing.
#4 Samantha, "I like all fruits, especially apples. However, I don't eat durian. I usually do walking in the morning with my parents. I went mountain walking and running with them this morning at five thirty. It helps my bones as well as my physical health. Drinking more water is my beauty thoughts."

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Nice to hear that they each have their own way of keeping their body and health in shape. I am like Samantha. I love all fruits including durian. I wasn't surprised to hear that #10 Joyce wasn't as concerned about her skin before. Very glad to hear how MHK improved and changed them.

Kayi Cheung

Kayi Cheung, Cindy Li, Grace Wong, and others were at the Television City attending 2008 BeiJing Olympics praying Ceremony.
Kayi will at BeiJing interviewing the athletes, therefore she will be prepared for it. She explained, "I bought plenty of Olympics related books, so I can study.
Said that she is passing on soon, Kayi said that her contract will be over in October, but she haven't yet been contacted by TVB for further notice. (Asked if she will enter the entertainment world?) She responded, "I remain neutral. I don't know if I will become popular or not. Due to the fact that I am a college graduate, I can explore in other business. (Were their any news which affected you?) Kayi said, "That's what I thought in the begining, but I have to admit that I have high EG."
On the other hand, Cindy will be at BeiJing on Ocober doing some interviews. She said that she will be working on her album as soon as her contract is over with TVB.

Webmaster 's Thoughts:
What is Kayi thinking of. She is explaining it as if she doesn't care if TVB contract her of not, while she does. She can help WaiYin or other charity work. She is getting me so angry that I don't want to comment and explain what I think anymore. Such a disgrace to Miss Hong Kong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trendy Vision Award

12 pageants were wearing sponcered sunglasses at Tsim Chaozui competing for the Trendy Vision Award. MHK Kayi Cheung and famous cameraman Alain Yip were as the judges. They appeared on the catwalk stage with their sunglasses on. At this day portraits taken at the Caribbean trip of the pageants were displayed out. #7 Hilda and #8 Angela's points were tied. However after the judges discussed their performance, #7 brought home the Trendy Vision Award as well as $10,000 worth of prices. She decided to donate $50,000 from her price to charity. Besides the earthquake at SiChuen, the flood at South China also needs our help. She said, "I will help as mush as I can. My parents also agrees with me. Hopefully, after I make my effort, I can act as a MHK status, helping those who need us. #8 Angela said, "That's how competitions are. I understand. I am happy that I was praised by the judges. #7 Hilda's photo was more professional while mine was more random." Hilda revealed that she was very happy and surprised that she won the award. (Asked if she is confident in winning the championship?) Hilda replied, "I gained confidence after joining the MHK competition, but other pageants each have their own uniqueness."
On the other hand #10 Joyce Shin was scored the lowest with 41 points and #4 Samantha was placed second to last. This hot favorite today has turned to a village woman. Said that when #4 Samantha had her glasses, it pulled her beauty and the audience was close to puking. She explained that she didn't have the feeling. On the other hand , she thought made her more mature. The outlook of many pageants changed as if the purpose of this function was to scary the audience.
Kayi Cheung was present and this function. She highly praised #7 Hilda and #8 Angela saying that both of them would be placed top 3. She also said that it's really hard for her to choose, but she has her predictions for top 5 which includes: #4 Samantha, #5 Jovy, #7 Hilda, #8 Angela, and #11 Sire Ma. She said that due to #3's height, she might win 2nd runner up. She explained, "Why do I think she will be 2nd runner up? It's because she is as tall as many previous 3rd winners. Such as Konnie Lui, Carrie Lam, and Lorretta." While, Sammi Sum said it before that she thinks #3 has the 1st runner up look .
It was rumored that #5 Jovy would be the champion. No one knows whether it's real or not. Although her popularity isn't as high as #4 Samantha and #3 Edelweiss, but she does have a high chance of winning because she has a high education and fluent in English.

Webmasters Thoughts:
Glad that my favorite #7 Hilda won the award. She didn't disappoint me. I think making them wear glasses out proves how much there beauty extends. You know how reporters and the audience praises how beautiful their favorite is. Well know you know hoe beautiful they can be. Will they still look beautiful if they didn't have make-up on? Will they still look beautiful if they were in rags? If they can't even handle the glasses, how beautiful can they be. They have to beautiful in all occasions and in anything they act as. I believe this award leads to the Miss Photogenic Award. I am very confident that Hilda will take home that award as well. I as surprising that she she donated half of her award to charity. I hope she really has the heart to help others and not trying to take this opportunity to gain popularity like many people do today. I thought it was mean for them who revealed who scored the lowest. The reporters use of language to describe the pageants were too disrespectful. I had the feeling that Samantha was trying to cover and defend herself. If you were an optimistic person then you would say that she looks mature, but if you are pessimistic then you would say that it dragged her beauty proving that she doesn't have beauty. Not trying to be mean, but that allows readers to understand the point. As if Kayi, I was really disappointed in her as usual because her predictions aren't even coming from her heart. She is just pointing out the hot favorites which we don't need to know. The same here, I told my sister that I have the felling that at the end #3 will win 2nd runner up(not based on her performance) because of her height. I felt bad for #8 Angela although, I don't support her because her picture wasn't as special and personally I think Hilda is prettier, because she could have brought home that award based on her points. As she said and I do agree with her "that's how competitions are". Over all I saw no point of this award cause it's very similar to Miss Photogenic. They are just creating another award so that the press has more to wright.

Manners

The majority of the 12 pageants are college students. Two flight assistants were invited to inform them how important today's lecture is.Today June 17 were an elegant guest at Television City in Tseung Kwan O in Hong Kong with the 12 Miss Hong Kong pageants. Do you know who this lady is? The answer is Aunt Mok. Who is Aunt Mok then? She is 2008 Miss Hong Kong competition's etiquette seminar guest. She is artist Karen Mok's mother.
This is not Mrs. Mok's first time as the
Miss Hong Kong competition's etiquette seminar guest. Witty humor, Mrs. Mok's teachings are in very depth allowing listeners to easily understand the message. Don't think that it's any easy job. Surprisingly, an easy handshake is not understood by the general public. Don't think that all you need to do is just pull your hand out and shake the others. The amount of energy you use has a very deep learning. Besides that, when you eat, the way you handle your utensils, whether you need a napkin or not, and the way you hold your glass were all taught by Mrs. Mok to pageants how to handle. Although, the lecture didn't not take a long time, but the pageants benefited a lot from the lesson.
#6 Skye Chan revealed that she was taught by her mother and elders how to use utensils. She is also interested in reading books in regarding politeness. Also, the flight company taught them basic serving and eating manners. Usually, she serve her guest, but this time she is as the guest learning manners. As a result, she learned a lot and said that this lesson will be very useful in the future.
#2 Nadia said that before she didn't now where to place her hands when holding the glass, but after Mrs. Mok's lecture she praised how helpful it was. Also, she didn't know how to use the utensils when eating green peas, therefore probably it is difficult for her to taste it. However, after today, she believes that she will have no problems eating anything.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
I never know that Miss Hong Kong had a
etiquette seminar guest teaching them manners. Now I understand why previous Miss Hong Kong winners and participants say that they learn manners from joining the competition. #2 Nadia was quite honest how she had so many difficulties in eating. Same with me here. I am glad that she no longer have any issues with handling her utensils. I wish I was there.

MHK Offical Portraits

Imagine, 12 Miss Hong Kong pageants into 12 Qiao dolls. Will they look sweeter and more elegant. On June 16 morning at eleven, all pageants were at Hong Kong Film City in Tseung Kwan O shooting their official portraits. This year's costumes focuses on the summer season, therefore the colors where mainly white and peach. It also matches with the modern atmosphere on the pageants. Very matching! They were full of woman taste when the pageants stood in front of the background. Their performance were no where similar to a newcomer. They were able to accomplish all of the cameraman's requirements, which included expression and post. Compared to the begining, they all look more natural and confident. Seems like the month worth of training weren't wasted. Don't believe? Look at the pictures.
Asked if they felt pressured when they were filming today? Three interviewed pageants all had different answers.

Originally, #9 Iris traveled to island areas to film there graduation photos, therefore she wasn't nervous. However, the pictures taken now will then be posted on the magazines, so it's different from before. As a result, her attitude towards the results are more serious.

#10 Joyce Shin explained that she is not experienced with modeling. As a result, her performance was rather stiff. She is afraid that it might not satisfy the cameraman's requirements. Currently, the most difficult part for her is the hard heals. Fortunately, it's slowly getting better.
This is #11 MaChai's second time taking official portraits ever
since she joined the Miss Hong Kong competition, therefore she is not nervous at all. All she is worried about is that the results will not meet the cameraman's requirements, holding up other pageant's time. Luckily, she finished her quickly and the cameraman didn't have any comments. She is confident that her pictures will come out beautiful.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
I have been waiting for these pictures since forever. I think the costumes this year is very unique from previous years. The first picture I saw (not posted here though) gave me the feeling as if they were shooting the TVB calendar. A very classic looking. Personally, by far I haven't yet seen all the dress, but my favorite is #12 Denise Wong's dress. The different style and designs on their dresses each expresses a different feeling. In comparison to the previous years, their costumes were most likely the same style, but different color.

2008 TVB Most Popular AD award

2008 Miss Hong Kong pageants were at 奥 海 城 attending the 2008 TVB Most Popular AD award selecting there favorite AD company. It is an open vote to all function. Due to the fact that is was held on a Friday, many people were there taking pictures.
#4Samantha Ko appeared at further magazines posted her young pictures commenting on her skin and healthy body shape. She responded, "That post clarified for me. That proves that my body is natural. During the function she constantly looked sideways and said that she loves to take pictures. Afterwards, she explained, "I thought those were reporters. I don't mind people taking pictures of me at long as it's captured good."

#8 A
ngela Yiu was a model before join the Miss Hong Kong competition. She appeared in multiple commercials before. When she attended this function, she said, "Of all the commercials that I appeared in, I performed as a young wife. I always thought that it was because I dressed formally during the auditions. I do not mind what I appear in as long as the company is satisfied with it. " (Will then think of being a young mom?) She replied, "Not at all. I will not think of getting married until I past 30 because my dream is to travel around the world, therefore I have to work hard when I am young in order to afford the budget. Her most memorable commercial should be promoting undershirts. Said that earlier #

11 MaChai's skin was full of pimples when she was filming at Miami. After returning, her skin not only did not have any massive changes, but got worsen. She said, "I have seen two doctors and they both said that it was probably because she used inappropriate shin products which affected her pores. There is nothing that they can do about it. As a result, I am resting as must as possible, not applying an any makeup on, and drinking more water, hopefully it will heal." (Will it affect your mood?) She answered," Through this case, I learned how to relax and face it regularly because my emotions will affect my shin further. Therefore, I will not think of it as much keeping everything as easy as possible." ( Is it pressuring you?) She responded, "It doesn't matter because all this time I have been acting as if I am taking a summer course, therefore I don't feel any pressure. I will not bother to think about the results.

#12 Vanesse Wong was athletic and healthy when she was young. She also appeared in many commercials befo
re such as soda and instant noodles. As she grew, she focused on school more which then she appeared in less commercials.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Well I thought #4 Samantha's excuse was quite lame. Her explanation gave me this feeling that she was just trying to capture the attention of reporters to boost up her magazine appears. You may not agree with me and please don't be offended by it. When I first heard of the title, I immediately thought of #8 because she was a model before like the article said. As for MaChai, it doesn't seem that she has good skin and I was amazed that she attended this function without applying any makeup on. Hope she gets well soon.

Official Pageants

1. Man Pak Zhi
2. ZhiYuen
3. Edelweiss Zhang
4. Samantha Ko
5. Jovy Leung
6. Chan Xin Yang
7. Leung Nga Lum
8. Angela Yui
9. Iris Tse
10. Shi Yeun Wan
11. Ma C
hai
12. Vanesse Wong

On May 12, 2008 the final 12 contestants for 2008 Miss Hong Kong attended a press conference at 香港大埔豪宅楼. They appeared in short colorful dress along with their banners. Pageants had to present a short introduction of themselves. Although they all seem to have an acceptable figure, but their is always room for improvement. The average age for this year was 22 years old, increased by one point compared to last year due to 4 pageants who are 24: including Jovy Leung, Chan ZinYang, Angela Yui, and Vanesse Wong.

One
of the hot shots, #4 Samantha's figure worsen after her haircut showing her face's baby fat. Another image change contestant was #6 Chan Xin Yang, former flight server, who was suddenly spotted with an ATV artist. (Do you think you figure will affect your beauty?) Samantha replied: "It's doesn't matter, each has each beauty. Plus, I will not believe the rumors unless I heard it with my ears." One of the preview judges, Amanda S. suspected that contestant #8 Angela has been through a plastic surgery. Angela defended, "There are times when advertisement companies would addition to the advertising results, but joining the Miss Hong Kong competition is natural."

On the other hand, #3 Edelweiss was said to be with an unknown man in a hotel burning cigarettes. She stated clearly, "Lan Kwai Fong is one of Hong Kong's famous landscape. It's really normal for me to have a visit and I have already quit smoking. Back then I was only influenced by one of my good friends." (Did you offend someone, therefore the pictures were discovered?) Edelweiss shouted, "I did not offend anyone. I am clueless in who would do such thing." (Are you afraid that further private pictures will be leaked out?) She thought for a second then replied," I'm not afraid. My most private pictures were already posted." She pointed, "I have my parents approval for this competition. Before I was called a tomboy, therefore hopefully through this competition training I would learn to be more ladylike.

Private pictures of #2 was taken of the streets of them kissing. She admitted that the man was her boyfriend and calmly responded that kissing her boyfriend on a date is very normal. She cleared, " My boyfriend was driving me home. I life with my parents. I do not life with him." (Is drinking allowed?) She stated, "A little is fine. My parents taught me when I was little that women who knows how to drink will not suffer losses from any situations.

Similar looking Lun MeiGuey, #11 Ma Chai said, "Sometimes I do think I look like her, but I have would also have to say thanks to Jay Chow and Lun MeiGuey's help. My performances skills are really strong ever since I was small. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to join the entertainment circle and film better movies. Joining the entertainment circle was always my dream. One's reputation is very important. Those who have a great outlook will have an advantage of taking the spot light." (How do you react against the media?" She replied," I was major in 传播学科. I do know what reporters want. "

Webmaster's Thoughts:
After seeing the second broadcast of the 2008 Miss Hong Kong preview, my favorite has now changed to #11 Ma Chai. Her debate was well said and very organized. Although her body size, height, and beauty lacks others, but based on her skills by now, she is the most representable. I don't find it surprising that #8 was rumored that she was through a plastic surgery before, due to the fact that she was occupied as a model before. I didn't notice Samantha's haircut if it wasn't pointed out. I guess she wants a refreshing looks and brand new start. I thought
Edelweiss overreacted against her rumores. Just telling the audience that she is really concerned in regarding her personal photos being released. I was observing their post and their way of standing and noticed that out of the all, #11 was the sharpest in her stance. She smile and facial expression wasn't as beautiful as others, but calm and speaking of her stance is the "beauty pageant" way. However, I am disappointed in all because by far, based on the news that I have read, these ladies are just using this competition to connected them up to the entertainment circle and not purposley joining so that the can represent Hong Kong making it a better place.

Webmaster's Thoughts:
Congratulations to all contestants. I noticed that many or even all of the selected male judges were the same from last years. Is it because of their popularity or is TVB satisfied with their beauty judging taste? Anyhow, my favorite since the way beginning of the interviews was #12 Angela because of her work experience as a model and her beauty was unique for the others. However after glimpsing their performances I also have a positive feeling towards #9, Samantha. I did not notice her as much as before because I didn't find anything special in he beauty. I felt as if she was just this one ordinary looking woman. In terms of beauty by far I think #9, 12, 14 has an equal chance of winning Miss Photogenic due to their smile. The award I am looking towards is Miss Tourism Ambassador because as a Miss Hong Kong winner you are representing Hong Kong, therefore you must be familiar with Hong Kong's history as well as a decent voice when presenting. At this point I see #1 speaks Chinese fluently and #9 and 12 good at selected phases. Those two points are very important when presenting. Many people praised #14 Edelweiss due to her height, however I do not find anything special about her in representing Hong Kong. On the other hand, I passionately dislike her voice because, I think she is sometimes mumbling to herself and can't express her point, similar to Loretta Chow from last year. As for the talent performance my favorite was #12 because she chose something that not as a lot is interested to and the most important is that I think it's representing the women from ancient days. Reminds me of Lily Ho from last year. The best introduction would go to #12 because because she was fluent and she was the only one who mentioned about 2008 Olympics. I would say that # 9 had the best taste in choosing her bikini. Plain but fashionate. Unlike many who chose flower decorations. Though I think #12 is suitable in all ways for winning Miss Hong Kong I do not support her as much as #9 because I have this odd feeling that #12 isn't trying to make a difference in Hong Kong, instead trying to boost up her popularity. On the other hand, I see that #9 is enjoying this priceless experience and willing to learn from experiences. While #12 is sometimes show an arrogant face. I was expecting more from the oversea contestants. In terms of beauty they loose more to the Hong Kong contestants, however I do see a different beauty side from the one from Vancouver. Once again I think she does have the talent to win, but I can speak no more until I see her performance and interviews. I am confident in Vancouver participants according to past Miss Hong Kong winners like Sonija Kwok and Anne Heung as well as the record winners in Miss Chinese International competition.
